From Two Friends
to a Technology Consultancy

It Started With a Conversation
It Started With a Conversation
We met during engineering and became close friends. After college, like most graduates, we started looking for jobs and eventually began our careers in technology.

Haroon started working as a System Administrator, while Deepam began his career as a Software Developer. We were learning our crafts, but the idea of doing something of our own kept coming back.

Neither of us had significant business experience. We didn't have investors, a team, or even much money to put into the idea. But we had a useful combination - one of us enjoyed understanding systems, people and how things worked; the other loved building technology.

So we decided to start small.
We Started Before We Were Ready
We Started Before We Were Ready
In 2018, we began taking on freelance projects alongside our jobs.

There was no grand launch. No office. No team.
Just two people trying to figure things out.

We found a few projects, delivered some successfully, and learned from others that didn't go quite as planned. Some clients paid on time. Some didn't. Some projects went smoothly. Others taught us lessons we didn't know we needed.

We had no real playbook for finding clients, pricing work, managing expectations or dealing with difficult situations. So we learned by doing.

And every project gave us something more valuable than revenue: Experience.
Things Were Far From Easy
Things Were Far From Easy
Starting a company while learning how to run one came with its own set of problems. We had to figure out how to win clients in a crowded market, how to build a reliable team, how to manage projects, how to handle escalations, and eventually, how to make sure there was enough money to keep everything moving.

There were times when paying salaries was a challenge.
There were times when projects didn't go as planned.
There were times when we questioned where CodeRelix was actually heading.

But those challenges forced us to become better - not just at technology, but at understanding business, people, responsibility and leadership.

Then Came COVID - A Pause That Changed Our Perspective

By the time we were seriously considering leaving our jobs and committing fully to the company, the world changed. COVID brought uncertainty, and like many businesses, we had to slow down and reassess our plans. We stayed with our jobs while things settled. But the idea of CodeRelix never disappeared. When the situation began improving, we knew we had a decision to make. We could continue treating CodeRelix as something on the side. Or we could finally give it everything we had.

We chose the second.
In April 2021, CodeRelix LLP was formally registered.

And from there, the real journey began.

We Didn't Want to Just Build Software
We Didn't Want to Just Build Software
In the early years, we were focused largely on getting projects, delivering them and keeping the company moving.

But as we worked with more businesses, something became clear. The part of the work we enjoyed most wasn't simply writing code. It was understanding why something needed to be built.

We liked looking at a business process and asking:
Why does it work this way?
Where is the bottleneck?
Why is someone doing this manually?
Can these systems talk to each other?
Can this be simpler?
And most importantly:
What would make this business easier to run?

That changed our perspective completely. We realised that software was only part of the equation. The real opportunity was solving the business problem behind it.
From Delivering Projects to Solving Problems
From Delivering Projects to Solving Problems
We didn't want CodeRelix to become another company that simply takes requirements, builds software and moves on to the next project.

We wanted to understand the business first.

Sometimes the right answer is a new system.
Sometimes it is improving an existing one.
Sometimes it is automation.
Sometimes it is connecting systems that already exist.
And sometimes, the right answer is not to build anything at all.

That mindset became the foundation of how we work today.

Technology is the tool. Solving the problem is the job.
CodeRelix Was Never Built by Two People Alone
CodeRelix Was Never Built by Two People Alone
Although CodeRelix started with two founders, the journey has been shaped by many people along the way.

Mentors helped us see things differently.

Friends and family supported us through uncertain periods.

Team members brought skills, ideas and perspectives that we didn't have ourselves.

And our clients gave us something equally important: trust.

Many opportunities came through people who had experienced our work and were willing to recommend us to others.

Every project, every conversation and every relationship has contributed to the company we are building.
Bigger Problems. Bigger Possibilities.
Bigger Problems. Bigger Possibilities.
As CodeRelix grew, the projects became more complex.

We moved beyond individual websites and applications into business systems, ERP and CRM platforms, e-commerce, internal tools, automation and larger digital products.

We also began working with businesses beyond our home market in Goa.

Today, CodeRelix works with businesses across India, the UAE, the wider GCC, the UK, the US and beyond.

But growth isn't just about geography or project size.

For us, it has meant becoming better at understanding businesses and taking responsibility for the technology they depend on.
Technology Is Changing Again
Technology Is Changing Again
The rise of AI has opened another chapter.

We started seeing possibilities beyond simply digitising manual processes.

Technology can now help businesses reduce repetitive work, make sense of information faster, support decision-making and give people more time to focus on work that actually needs human thinking.

For us, AI isn't about adding AI to everything. It's about asking a better question:
Where can technology genuinely make this business work better?

That question continues to guide how we think about what we build.
Still Learning. Still Building.
Still Learning. Still Building.
Today, CodeRelix is a growing technology consultancy helping businesses understand, build and improve the systems behind their operations.

We've come a long way from two college friends working on freelance projects after office hours.

But in many ways, the core idea hasn't changed.

We still like understanding how things work.

We still enjoy solving problems that aren't straightforward.

And we still believe good technology should make something simpler, better or more possible.
Building Systems That Make Businesses Easier to Run
Building Systems That Make Businesses Easier to Run
Our ambition for CodeRelix is not simply to become a bigger software company.

We want to become the technology partner businesses turn to when their existing way of working no longer scales.

A partner that can understand the business, identify what needs to change, design the right technology, build it properly and stay involved as the business evolves.

Because ultimately, that's what we've been trying to do since the beginning:
Take something complex. Understand it. Simplify it. Build it.

And we're only getting started.
